Robot Road Warrior

You are the tip of the spear – the first point of contact between us and our customers. You don’t concern yourself with administrative follow-up – your job is to find customers and get them robots! Description:

Software Engineer

RoboteX is looking for engineers who are energetic, motivated, and detail-oriented. This is an opportunity to join a fast growing startup and help build cutting-edge robotic products. As a member of our product development team, you will help develop software for the Avatar® series of robotic platforms. RoboteX Avatar® robots can be used in every facet of daily life to do monotonous and/or dangerous jobs – and also to make things a bit more fun and interesting.

Description:

  • Design and development of system control software
  • Design and development of user interfaces
  • Design and prototyping of autonomous behaviors
  • Optimization of data throughput for point-to-point and multi-point robotic control schemes

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science from a top-tier university or equivalent experience
  • C, C++ experience required
  • Experience with Linux environments and Linux systems programming is required
  • Experience with Java a huge plus
  • Experience with autonomous robot navigation algorithms is a huge plus
  • Experience with GUI development and design is a huge plus
  • Experience dealing with motion-compensation-based video codecs is a plus
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and IEEE 802.11 is a plus
  • Experience with scripting languages is a plus
  • Hacker mentality is a plus
  • Self-motivated and disciplined; able to prototype and iterate
  • Able to work independently but deliver on strict timelines
